Mikael Nilsson
"The fact that it looks like if Hergé has given Edward Hopper the mission to paint the backgrounds for an adventure of Tintin in an alpine setting is a very high mark." Dan Backman, Svenska Dagbladet.
Mikael earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts in Norway in 2005, after several years of art school practice. Among his teachers, guest teachers and professors have been many well known artists like; Karin Mamma Andersson, Dan Graham, Mari Rantanen, Anne-Karin Furunes, Henrik Samuelson, Torbjorn Sorensen and Jon-Arne Mogstad, to mention a few.
Currently residing in Stockholm, Sweden since 2005, Mikael is showcasing his artwork at galleries, art shows, public institutions and cruise ships internationally.
"Mikael Nilssons super realistic acrylic paintings have an undertone of David Lynch, and are in their best moments hard to to take your eyes off. .....Beautiful, controlled and cineastically tickling in a way that warms in the nasty damp autumn weather." Sebastian Johans, Uppsala Nya Tidning.
